Respite
& Retreats
Foster, adoptive, and kinship care is an all-encompassing pursuit that is mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually demanding. Of the families who will say “yes” to opening their homes to vulnerable children, about half will end up closing their doors within the first year due to burnout. This wearying task is not possible without breaks from the daily caregiving activities and responsibilities.
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
We seek to provide respite care and retreats for families so they can be refreshed and met with the hope and encouragement needed to persistently provide care to hurting kids. Our ministry house in Wears Valley, staffed by Christians who understand this role, is the perfect location for your kids to receive loving, respite care while you take a much-needed break. It also serves as a peaceful retreat space for you to be personally rejuvenated in God’s creation.
